The Druids of Firn-na-Bolg | Downloadable Map
This week at the Red Quills, we're diving back into watercolours, sketches, and naturalist-style illustraitons for our exploration of the druid groves of the Ruins of Rostivale, the settlement off the coast of Firn-na-Bolg. But this is an ancient complex of crumbling towers, felled by some ancient cataclysm, and the sketches are not of beasts, but the aeons-old golems that wander the toppled spires. Enjoy this map of the Druids of Firn-na-Bolg.
You can watch the full tutorial here: How to Draw a Druids Grove
For those that have been following along, this is the destination in which your players and our heroes can discover the keys and information needed to unlock the Vault on the Isle of Dreams. Here is the last refuge of the Golidi Dominion, the first empire - which was destroyed by their own hubris and civil war.
But more importantly from a worldbuilder's perspective, it introduces the Golidi golems. They are said to have been the first civilisation to master the creation of golems, and made many different varieties. Five of those varieties still wander Firn-na-Bolg: the crab-like Kuze, the dextrous Mar, the plodding Thna'nah, the humanoid Pah, and the watchful Mu.
There are a great many easter egg-like references in this map, and more than a few nice worldbuilding touches - like the names of the golems and their shapes - so please enjoy, download, and print it out for your campaigns!
You can download the full map here:
And, of course, you have access to the language of Firn-na-Bolg here.
For those that want more information about the Druids, their connection to the Golidi, and of course the location of the Key of the Pirate King, keep your ears open for the Lore Archive video on this location, releasing later this week!
