This module includes a variety of maps designed to bring the city’s intrigue to life:

  • City Overview Map: A detailed map of the city, highlighting key districts and points of interest.
  • Scene-Specific Maps: Gridmaps for the lair of the dragon and an overview of the exterior—perfect for roleplaying and combat alike.

In the tutorial, I discuss how to use these maps to support the narrative, ensuring that every location feels purposeful and engaging.

Running the Module

Here are some tips for maximizing the intrigue in this urban adventure:

  • Give NPCs distinct motivations: Each faction or character should feel like they have a personal stake in the story, creating believable dynamics.
  • Encourage player agency: Allow the group’s decisions to have meaningful consequences. Whether they forge alliances, betray allies, or uncover hidden truths, their choices should shape the city’s future.
  • Balance tension and pacing: Alternate between tense investigations, thrilling action, and moments of lighthearted interaction to keep the session engaging.

The adventure’s focus on story and character interaction makes it a great way to spotlight your players’ creativity and problem-solving skills.
